I’m Lamont! I started Unlock Growth as an outlet for my passion for self improvement, breaking boundaries, and getting uncomfortable. I am a software engineer by trade, and outside of work I wanted to do more. I was always looking into side-projects in my spare time, but sadly always found myself abandoning them before finishing due to lack of time, commitment, or motivation. Life flies by pretty fast, you know what I mean?
That is when I started reading on ways to be more productive. One specific habit of mine would be trying to work after dinner, but end up at 11pm on the couch watching Netflix or Youtube, asking myself “What was I doing for the last 3 hours??”. That’s when I researched and discovered “Power of Habit”, and the psychology behind habits forming. I wanted to be more productive, so one of the methods I used was to change my scenery. Instead of staying home, I would move to a nearby coffee shop to work without distractions. This worked for me and I was hooked.
Ever since, I have been intrigued by how the mind works and how to be more productive with our limited time on this Earth. Why is it so difficult to get rid of bad habits? How do I overcome the dopamine effect of video games?
I want to share the knowledge I’ve picked up over the years from others around me, books, and leaders like Tim Ferris and Tim Urban. This is my form of self-expression, and I hope that I can provide a positive impact to you.
So there I am! Who are you? Shoot me an email and let’s connect!
